The example above demonstrates the use of an existing drawing (scanned as a JPEG raster image file) as the background when showing proposed modifications. This method can be a tremendous timesaver, especially for demolition drawings, and works well when scans are clean and legible. When using scanned drawings, consider adding a note to your dating, similar to the following:

"SCANNED DRAWING USED AS A BACKGROUND ON THIS DRAWING MAY NOT PROVIDE 100% ACCURACY WITH CURRENT EXISTING CONDITIONS"
